New Student/Family Info

Students at Christ the King Catholic High School are challenged to believe sincerely, think critically, act responsibly, and serve others in the name of Christ the King. 

New student orientation is August 19th from 7:45 am to noon. The orientation will be a fun, informative, in-depth introduction to Life as a Crusader. Students will meet their teachers, visit their lockers (drop off any supplies or books) and briefly walk through their schedule. Please wear your CTK uniform and bring a water bottle. 

Beginning the week of June 9th, our office hours are 8:30 am - 12:30 pm, Monday - Thursday (closed Fridays). 

We are closed the week of June 30th - July 4th. 

Regular office hours resume August 4th.

All freshman take the following courses: Theology, Biology, Logic (.5 credit), Foundations of Civilization (.5 credit), Freshman Seminar (includes Health), Math (Algebra 1 or Geometry), English Composition & Literature, World Language (Spanish or Latin), and 1 credit of electives. 

See the form below for selecting the World Language choice (Spanish or Latin) and elective preferences. Freshman students may choose from the following electives:

Advanced Band, Choir, Introduction to Engineering Design, Guitar, Introduction to Weight Training, Mythology, Photojournalism, Physical Education, Public Speaking, Functional Fitness, and Visual Art. 

Placement into Math, English Composition & Literature, and World Language (Honors or College Prep) are determined based on your student's academic performance, teacher recommendations, and placement test scores. 

Every student will receive a course list via email. The email will come from a no-reply address no later than the end of June or the first week of July. Please check your spam folder. If you apply and register after the first week of July, please reach out to our Guidance Department to review your schedule. 

TRANSFER STUDENTS: Your counselor will reach out regarding your schedule once we receive your transcripts. 

Course lists will be emailed by the end of June. If you are a transfer student, one of our counselors will reach out to you to register your classes. If you have not received your course list by July 15th, please contact Brian Keenan at bkeenan@ctkchs.net.

Crusader Letter Jacket Information

CTK Letter jackets can be ordered anytime from Jostens.com. Please note: Your custom letter jacket will take 8-10 weeks to manufacture from your online order date and and 5-7 days shipping time. Also note, you will receive your CTK letter for the front from school and you will be responsible for having the CTK letters sewn on the front of the jacket. Please see the Athletics office for CTK letters and if you have any questions.

Step 4: Print Medical Forms (click on forms, and option to print is available)

• NCHSAA PPE Physical Evaluation - Must be signed and dated by a doctor.
• NCHSAA Medical Eligibility Form - Must be signed and dated by a doctor.

Step 5: Upload signed medical forms to Dragonfly. This process is significantly faster, easier, legible, and more likely to be accepted if you create a separate file for each form.

• Upload NCHSAA PPE Physical Evaluation Form. Select the date of the physical when prompted.If the physical date and the date selected by the parent do not match, the physical will be rejected.
• Upload NCHSAA PPE Medical Eligibility Form.Select the date of the physical when prompted. If the physical date and the date selected by the parent do not match, the physical will be rejected.

Step 6: When all your student athlete's forms are green, they are eligible to participate.

All forms for fall sports must be completed by July 30, 2025.

All forms for winter sports must be completed by October 1, 2025.

All forms for spring sports must be completed by January 15, 2026.

CTK Uniform Quick Guide

All students are required to wear Lands' End uniform tops and bottoms embroidered with the CTK logo. Outerwear can be purchased from the CTK Spirit Store. Required items must be purchased from Lands’ End or the CTK Spirit Store unless otherwise noted.

BOYS

• Lands' End Shirts: Rapid-Dry polo (Navy, White, Cobalt, Gray) with CTK logo – must be tucked in.

• Lands' End Bottoms: Rapid-Dry shorts or pants (modest length & fit) – belts required.

• CTK Spirit Store Outerwear: Only uniform-approved CTK outerwear with CTK logo.

• Mass Days: Long pants required.

GIRLS

• Lands' End Shirts: Rapid-Dry polo (Navy, White, Cobalt, Gray) with CTK logo – may be untucked but midriff must not show.

Parents will receive an email with instructions for accessing the Google classroom and their student email this summer. The Google classroom will contain information and instructions for summer reading.

Students will receive their MacBook Air during the first week of school upon completion of the required forms.

All students have an all-grade summer reading assignment. Other classes may have required summer reading/work as well. Please consult the textbook listing for complete details regarding your courses for the 2025-2026 school year.

Yes. Textbooks requirements will be updated in June. The required school supply lists will be provided by teachers once classes start, but will consist primarily of notebooks, looseleaf paper, folders, pens, and pencils. 

The PTO hosts two used textbook sales during the summer - dates TBD.

CTK operates on a modified block schedule - on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, students attend all eight (8) of their classes. On Wednesday and Thursday, students follow the block schedule, attending A, C, E & G on Wednesdays and B, D, F, & H on Thursdays. 

The block day schedule consists of half your classes for double the amount of class time. For example, on Wednesday block day, a student attends classes A, C, E, and G for approximately 90 minutes each class. Block days are often utilized for testing or labs. 

PlusPortals is the teachers' communication hub and gradebook of CTK. You will receive information regarding setting up your PlusPortals account at the beginning of the school year. PlusPortals is the place for assignments, grades, mid-term reports, and more. Parents are invited to be an active observer and monitor of their student's account.

The Academic Achievement Program provides support for students who experience academic difficulty, and it has been determined that they require accommodations. Students are eligible to receive assistance if they have previously received services in a MACS school, have an IEP or 504 plan, or if they have completed the referral process to receive accommodations at high school. Lockers are assigned to students, are the property of the school, and are subject to be opened for inspection at any time. Students are responsible for the upkeep of the lockers they borrow for the year. The school may not be held responsible for a student's personal property. In deference to our honor code, we do not utilize locks on our lockers at CTK. 

We are pleased to offer bussing for students through the Mecklenburg Area Catholic Schools office. Information is available on the MACS website.

Meet-the-teacher night is September 2nd. All parents/guardians are invited to attend. You will have an opportunity to meet your student's teachers and learn about their curriculum.

President's Advisory Council (PAC) - The PAC is an advisory board that works closely with the President to provide extraordinary initiatives for our students and staff.
