St.Therese of Lisieux Award for Journey in Faith and Sincere Belief

The St. Therese of Lisieux Award honors a student who, like the Little Flower herself, lives out faith not in grand gestures, but in the quiet, consistent, everyday moments that so often go unnoticed. This year, that student is Mayla Brinkley.

Mayla's teachers describe her with remarkable consistency - unfailing optimism, a heart always open to others, and a faith that expresses itself naturally through her daily example. She encourages those around her to grow, whether through her devotion to prayer or simply through the way she shows up every single day - kind, hardworking, and humble, never seeking attention, always giving her very best.

That spirit was on display even as a freshman. Faced with a class of widely varying abilities, Mayla didn't wait to be asked. She organized a study group, led it herself, and showed up during her lunch hour to help her classmates succeed. No recognition required - just a quiet willingness to serve.

In the words of St. Therese, it is the little way - small acts done with great love - that has the most powerful and lasting impact. Mayle embodies that beautifully. Her kindness, humility and joyful faith reflect the very spirit this award was created to honor.

Congratulations, Mayla. CTK is so proud of you.
