Crusader Stories

multicultural fair with photo of students in costume

The multicultural fair is about so much more than celebrating different cultures—it's about embracing the beauty found in our differences and unlocking students' boundless creativity and confidence! From colorful displays of traditional attire to mouthwatering tastes of global cuisine, the event is a vibrant tapestry of cultures coming together.

Through sharing their heritage with others, students discover the power of their voices and the beauty of their unique backgrounds. By celebrating our differences, students find that they are united by the shared joy of discovery and exploration.

The cast of Seussical.

From the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss to the colorful set design and captivating performances of our talented students, the show is truly a magical experience for all who attend.  The stage comes alive with vibrant colors, infectious energy, and heartwarming moments. Through song and dance, the cast and crew transport audiences to the fantastical world of Seuss, where anything is possible

The play also delivers a powerful message about the sanctity of life and the importance of cherishing every individual, no matter how small. Inspired by the beloved characters and timeless wisdom of Dr. Seuss, the musical celebrates the beauty and value of every person, from the tiniest Who to the mightiest Horton.

In a world where the dignity of human life is often challenged and debated, Seussical the Musical serves as a poignant reminder of the inherent worth and dignity of every human being. The show reminds us to embrace our differences, stand up for what is right, and protect the most vulnerable among us.

We are incredibly proud of our cast and crew for their hard work, dedication, and passion for bringing the musical to life on our stage. If you haven't had a chance to see it, don't miss out on this unique opportunity to experience the wonder and talents of our CTK students. Special thanks to the cast and crew, to Mrs. Varricchio for her direction, and to Mr. Hanes for his incredible work on the set and sound.

Exploring the unknown, embarking on their futures, and making memories! The Juniors enjoyed an unforgettable adventure this week as they traveled North on the Junior college trip to Virginia and DC. They visited Virginia Tech, Virginia Military Institute, Roanoke College, Christendom College, and the Catholic University of America in DC. These college visits allow students to get a feel for a variety of college experiences - from military academies to small private colleges and large public universities, students get to explore the endless possibilities awaiting them upon graduation.

While exploring their futures, these juniors made some special memories too - stopping at the National Air and Space Smithsonian Museum, touring the National Mall monuments after dark, and relaxing playing pool and arcade games at Catholic U. They even ran into CTK alum Joseph Flynn '21 who is currently a student at VMI.

To the moon and beyond, the world is yours to conquer Crusaders! Special thanks to Dr. Werder and Mrs. Medrano for organizing the trip!

The Crusaders for Life group poses for a photo

A group of Crusaders braved the chilly temperatures and windy weather to participate in the 18th annual Charlotte March for Life on Friday. The walk began in prayer with Father Chinonso and Bishop Jugis. They joined schools and churches from throughout the Charlotte area in support of the Pro-Life movement. Join with our Crusaders as we pray for the unborn. Prayer changes lives!

Hark the Herald Angels Sing.... and Play!

Our CTK musicians showcased their talent in a special concert at Saint Mark Catholic School on Monday, December 11th. Students in our band, choral, and guitar classes played classical Christmas songs led by our band director, Christopher D'Allura, and guitar teacher, Chris Jones. Senior band members Kevin Brady and Gabe Glass each conducted a number. Beautiful music by our gifted musicians!
