The CTK Learning Support program provides support to students who experience academic difficulty. Students with valid documentation, whether psycho-educational evaluation or medical, will work with the learning support teacher to develop and implement an individualized learning plan in which the student is encouraged to learn to be a more confident self-advocate, to gain skills to be a stronger student, and to develop the skills needed for success in secondary education. Support is provided through accommodations, tutoring, and a freshmen level academic skills class.
The goals of the Learning Support program include:
- Assisting in identifying students needing educational support.
- Preparing students for all the necessary steps for college including obtaining standardized testing accommodations and submitting college accommodations requests.
- Supporting teachers in providing appropriate and successful instruction for all students.
- Assisting students in developing strategies for academic success.
