Sophomore Retreat 2025: Gifted

Gifted.

That was the theme of this year's Sophomore Retreat—a day centered on the truth that our faith is a gift from God. When we recognize that every good thing we have—our talents, our relationships, our opportunities—is rooted in His grace, it changes the way we live and love.

Throughout the day, students were invited to reflect on this question:

"What will I do with the gift of faith I've been given?"

Rooted in Scripture, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you: it is the gift of God." (Ephesians 2:8) - the retreat encouraged sophomores to see their lives as part of God's unfolding plan. Talks led by our peer ministers inspired honest reflection and connection, while small group discussions helped students grow in friendship and faith.

One highlight of the day was thw "Follow the Follower" activity, where blindfolded students relied on teammates to guide them through a series of obstacles - a living metaphor of trust, vulnerability, and the courage to walk by faith, not by sight.

The retreat concluded with Adoration, offering students time for quiet prayer and personal encounter with Jesus.

At CTK, retreats like these are more than a break from the classroom - they're an essential part of forming disciples.

May our sophomores continue to grow in gratitude for the gift of faith. and in the confidence to share it generously with others.
