From the classroom to the control room.

Our Engineering and AP Environmental Science students took learning to the next level with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Cowans Ford Hydroelectric Facility. 

Students explored the turbines that generate electricity from Lake Norman, the structure of the dam, and the systems used to manage water levels during major weather events like Hurricane Helene. 

What stood out most was not just what they learned, but how they engaged. Their thoughtful quetions and curiosity left a lasting impression, a reflection of the academic strength and formation happening every day at CTK.
